2022 - Transmission Line Trimming

The District maintains 4 miles of cross country Transmission line from its source pond to the community

2025 - South Street and East Main Street Intersection Project

In 2025 the District completed a joint project with MDOT downtown. The project replaced water main that has been installed since 1884. The new watermain installation was designed to create a "HUB" for future upgrades in this area. 

2024 - New Equiptment

In 2024 the District recieved grant funding requiring a 20% match to purchase a trailer mounted vacuum excavator to assist with identifying service line materials. 

2022 - Drilling a test well for potential secondary water supply during extended drought conditions

In 2022 the District utilized Maine Drinking Water Program (MDWP) grant funding to locate and drill a test well for potential secondary water supply during extended drought conditions 

2022 - New GIS Mapping and Data collection Project

2015-2022 - Completed a multi-year, in-house effort to develop a comprehensive GIS-based digital mapping system of all District assets. This project replaced out of date paper maps of the nearly 37 miles of distribution mains and service lines within the system. District personel collected data using GPS collection equiptment, water main location equiptment, historical data and other refrence materials to create the digital system. 

Salmon Stream Pond Dam and Spillway Reconstruction

Begining in 2016 the District responded to drought conditions. District personell worked with state and local agencies to source funding to address our sources failing spillway and impoundment. Engineered plans were prepared in 2019 and submitted for potential grant funding. In 2020 in colaboration with MEMA and the MDWP funding was made available and construction began to replace the 1950's structure.
